Because You're Worth It!

Hey y'all! So I got this nail color for free last Friday and I have gotten soooo many compliments on it. I honestly didn't know if I would like it at first (considering I'm a pink, orange and red girl all the way) but I was amazed to find out how great it looks on! It's kinda a dull metallic gold but when the sun hits it, it becomes a more rosy gold. Super perfect for early spring. I'm in love. You can buy the color at any drugstore nearest to you!

What do y'all think?

My Current Obsessions

Ray-Ban Aviators:

I cannot LIVE without my aviators. I have a pair of Wayfarers that I absolutely love, but they don't fit under a ball cap the same way as aviators do. Seriously y'all. My last pair broke and I was devastated, so I immediately ordered up a new replacement pair. I just received the email that they arrived, so photos to come!

Lululemon Headband:

I bought this headband on a whim expenditure and regret nothing. This thing is so comfortable, stays on my head and looks nice with any of my "workout-chiche" outfits. Such a good purchase!

Hard Tail Rolldown Yoga Pant:

If I could wear yoga pants all day every day, I would. Hard Tails are my absolute fave. They're durable, they look nice, and soooo comfortable. I bought mine in black with a pink tie-dye fold over. So perfect for this strange chill in Dallas recently.

Lululemon Run Swiftly Shirt:
I have one in a lime green, instead of dark heather above. It is honestly one of the most comfortable shirts I own. I can go to class, run errands, go to the library, and workout in it and always look semi-put together. What more can a classy college student ask for?!

What's y'alls favorite wardrobe staples?

The Most Relatable Video Ever

TSM

I just had this sent to me from TSM a couple of days ago and I have never laughed so hard at something I related to sooooo much. Like, really, if y'all have ever had someone make fun of your mannerisms, you'll get a kick out of this one. (Link is under video)

Like I can't even, but I must because I'm literally dying.

Over-Sized T-Shirt

I heart over-sized t-shirts. Like, no joke. I just won a Southern Tide frocket (frat pocket tee) on Friday and literally haven't taken it off. It's a size large and I'm typically a size small, but you know what at the Southern sorority girls say... Large is the new small! But seriously, they are perfect with a pair of leggings and sandals, a pair of norts and Free-runs, or just as a beach cover-up. I'm all about them!

New York Bound for Sure!

WE'RE GOING TO MADISON SQUARE FOR REAL!!!! Like, I know the game was there this time, but it is the real deal. The game against Clemson was the end all, be all considering the NCAA doesn't think the Ponies have what it's got. Well, we do! Go Mustangs. PONY UP!

Spring Break 2014

Well, I didn't jet off to anywhere special. There were no sandy beaches or crazy all night parties. In fact, the farthest I went was only 45 minutes west of Dallas. But, I don't regret any of it. I mean, yes. I would have liked to be some place exotic, tanning on a powder beach and staying up all night with college students from one end of the country to the other, instead of being stuck in coldish rainy Texas. But, the sacrifice was worth it. Instead of tanning in Destin or South Padre, my mommy (all the way from Detroit) came down to visit me.

My mom and I are best friends, two peas in a pod and the chance to see her, even if only for 5 days, was vacation enough. We went shopping, and walked the Katy Trail near campus. We tanned and laughed and ate and did the mother/daughter bonding that we so desperately needed. I miss my mom so much during the year and am so blessed to have seen her on my break. Beaches (or not), being with her was the best SB I could have asked for.
We're so fabulous

Pinterest: Mardi Gras Beads

As we all know, Mardi Gras has come and eventually will pass. Some of us were lucky enough to spend it in the great NOLA itself, while others were home enjoying their own festivities. Regardless, the king cake was doled out in plenty and the beads thrown like cray. I kid you not, I woke up from a mardi gras party with about 10 strands of beads (gold, purple, and green – and one blue...?) around my neck! Now, of course, I plan on keeping these beads because they somehow lend themselves to college parties and what-not. But for those unfortunate enough to have a surplus amount of beads and no idea on how to use them, here's a great way to utilize these funny little souvenirs from Bourbon Street.

1) Bead Outlined Frame
Pinterest
Glue beads to the outside of a picture/mirror frame and paint over it, adding texture and uniqueness to an item.

2) Beaded Coaters
Pinterest
Make coasters out of beads. It's relatively cheap and easy, as well as adds a Southern quirkiness to a dinner party.

3) Bead Filled Glasses
Pinterest
Fill old glasses/champagne flutes/cocktail glasses/Mason jars with the beads and a lit tea candle to create a romantic, or sophisticated, or plain old fun atmosphere.

4) Beaded Wreath
Pinterest
You can buy these wreaths on Etsy, or you can be crafty yourself and make one.
  1. Find a couple colors that either correspond with your favorite team/your college colors/whichever two colors you have the most
  2. Wrap and hot glue around a wreath base (can be bought at any craft store)
  3. Add a bow or a pendant
  4. Ta-da! A wreath fit for the King of NOLA
5) Beaded Necklace
Pinterest
This probably works better with pearl or white colored beads, but the concept (for any color) is the same!

What do y'all do with your leftover beads?

P.S. I've been pretty busy so I haven't had the chance to blog lately. I promise I'll be better!
