Let's Get Physical

Let's Get Physical

I love, love, LOVE going to the gym. And nothing is better than working out and feeling cute at the same time. I personally like long sleeved shirts and Nike running shorts (because the patterns are too cute for words!) Hope y'all are having a nice day because Hurricane Sandy is somewhat ruining mine... XOXO

Summary of My Year

The first quarter of senior year ends in T-minus 5 days. Goodness, where has the time gone! A few highlights of the year include my last spirit day (our theme was Batman), going to the beautiful city of Charleston, SC with Mama, ending my senior season of cross country yesterday with a time of 22:59 (a career best), and getting to wear a fabulous toga with all my girlfriends.

In other news, I just took the ACT for the fourth time this morning. I want those scholarships! So, hopefully my scores go up at least one point! But, you know what they say: "Fourth time's a charm!".

I also got my first acceptance letter this morning. An impatient Mama greeted me at my door to have me come inside and open the GIANT envelope addressed to me from Michigan State. Low, and behold, I am officially a MSU Spartan! I now know if my plans don't work out, I definitely have another option awaiting!

More news! I have decided to go on a gluten-free diet! My bff has Celiacs and I already eat a lot of the foods she eats, so it only seemed logical I'd make the transition! My mom has already gone GF, so I'm joining her now that XC is official over :)

What are some wheat-free treats y'all enjoy? XOXO Savannah

Me before spirit day! Go Seniors!
My mom and I. Cuties, right?!

Don't judge! It was 5 in the morning at this time!!!

Darien Sport Shop

Oh my goodness. This website has everything! I absolutely love it. From Vineyard Vines to Jack Rogers to Nike, it is a one stop shop. And SUCH cute clothes! Please check them out!

A few featured brands (that I love):

Gonna Miss this Girl

Me and aRp
I love this girl to death! I don't want to even think of college right now because that means I have to leave her. She's a sophomore this year and my faithful "mini-me", so I know the school will be left in great hands. She is the girl I TRY to beat in cross country (but unfortunate for me, the student has literally surpassed the mentor), my injury buddy (someone to keep me company when our athletic trainer tries to fix me), and one of my best friends. Never met a girl quite like her :)

Toga, Toga, Toga!

Just like in the cult classic Animal House  (dubbed "toga, toga, TOGA, TOGA...!"), the seniors at my school dress up in togas and strut around school, showing of superiority. It was delightful! We had to get up at, like, 4:30 a.m. to tailgate in our parking lot, then take our class picture. Unfortunately, school has to follow (unless you're one of the lucky ones that's 18 and can call yourself out and/or you have cool parents that call you in and let you skip). Either way, I wasn't skipping today: I'm 17 and Mommy would permit me to do that when hell froze over.

 Toga Day pictures!

Update on Life

This is Junior year when I got my (at that time) career best (23:38)

I did it! I ran a 23:15 this week! I officially have my varsity letter for my senior year. I needed a 23:37, but I went beyond that standard. I am so proud of myself and is truly an example that when you put your heart and mind into something, you can achieve the "impossible". On that front, as well, I ran my first (and last :) ) 8 miler this past Tuesday. Only 5.1 more miles and that would have been a half marathon...

The Morton Salt Girl

The Morton Salt Girl
Hey y'all! It has been raining cats and dogs here in MI! Like as in tornado winds and tsunami rains. Obviously it reeks havoc on my hair, but it does make the grass stay nicer, longer. Rain here is, unfortunately, inevitable. Thus, you make the best out of whatever situation you're in! I love the yellow and black look. It is very preppy, yet not overly so. Yellow brings some needed sunshine to what seems to be a dreary day, while black helps in tone down the "summer-y"ness of the outfit. A nice pair of jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt make a perfect base to be creative. Of course Hunter's can come in all kinds of styles and colors, making any outfit possible. And every single preppy brand has their own style of raincoat, making it humanly impossible, NOT to find something that works with your mood.

What do you wear on rainy days? xoxo Savannah

Varsity uniform

In case anyone was curious, yes, I do run. I am actually the captain of my cross country team. The outfit to the right is my varsity uniform. That makes 3 out of 4 years I have made varsity! Woohoo! I am so happy to be ending my high school career on this positive note. The "Nike" uniform is coveted  on the team and to be honored with one is a major accomplishment. It is nearing the end of my season and prepping for a bittersweet goodbye. This sport brought me many challenges, friendships, and victories. I will miss this uniform exponentially. For all it represents, for all the memories made in it. For all the times now in the past I had accomplished my goals. But, at the same time, this uniform will go to a girl just like me: young, ambitious, and fast. That's all I have to say on that. Snaps for me! And hope everyone has a nice day xoxo

Holy Cow!

Oh my goodness. Senior year has hit me hard today. I have an uber large quantity of homework, a litany of tests. Plus, tomorrow is the last football game between my school and our rival school! This games is such a big deal in our small town. You start attending these games (which happen once a year) in middle school, sometimes elementary, and keep going until you graduate... which is this year. Super bittersweet, yet exciting at the same time.

My Must Haves

My Must Haves

2. Coach cross body
3. Tervis Tumbler (This isn't a picture of one, but I just loved the polka dots on it!)
4. i-Phone. This is the 4S, but I hear the 5 is pretty cool too!
5. The North Face wind-braker. Hot pink, obviously!
6. Longchamp. Mine's red, but pink is such a fun color.
7. Pearls. Really, there isn't much to be said here.
8. Hunter wellies.
