5 Fall Must Haves

Hey y'all! Sorry I've been AWOL, just so much to do in so little time. School has started and it is everything I have not to break down into hysterical sobs. This year was supposed to be the "fun" one. No stress, just youthful enjoyment. But then I remembered it was me I was talking about. I'm not satisfied until my stress level has hit dangerously high and my social life put on hold. What can I say, I thrive in chaos!! Well, an update on my senior year so far:

  • 1 panic attack
  • 2 quizzes
  • 1 cross country race (gearing up for one tomorrow)
Oh! I almost forgot! And I started powderpuff! I'm a running back/ defenseman/ whatever they need me to be ;)

Below are some of my 5 Fall Must Haves!

5 Fall Must Haves

1) Lilly Pulitzer Day Planners. Super cute and perfect for the on-the-go girl. The prints actually make you want to use them and the fact you're keeping organized is a super plus!

2) Lilly Pulitzer tumbler. I drink a lot of water. Because I run so frequently, I need to stay hydrated. And what better way to do so than to look stylish when doing so? My tumbler is from Walmart ( no shame in shopping there! ) and is hot pink. But if I had something this cute to drink out of, well as the 5 year old girl I babysit would say "I'd leave no water for the fishies!"

3) Pens. I go through pens like crazy! I don't even know why that is. They seem to get lost in transit every single day. So when the beginning of school rolls around, I buy them in bulk. I love color. Black, blue, and red are nice, but boring. Colorful ones, MAKE me want to do my homework. And as a rising senior, I need all the help I can get!

4) Vera Bradley Medium Cosmetic bag. If you don't tell anyone, I won't. I use mine as a pencil case. The medium is the perfect size case. Enough to fit pens, pencils, and my ginormous graphing calculator, but not so much I look ridiculous luging it around in my arms.

5) Longchamp. I love these totes. No shame. I use a red medium Le Pliage because the large one was just too big on my arm and looked disproportionate with my tiny body. These things can hold just about anything. And they're durable. Plus, with the assortment of colors and sizes available, there's something for everyone!

Game Day Necessities

Game Day Necessities

1) Rain boots. Let's be honest, football season anywhere is wet. I hate sitting on cold, metal bleachers with soaking feet. Not fun at all. I personally love Hunter wellies. I have a pair in navy, so they literally go with everything!

2) Tote bag. This one in particular is from Vineyard Vines, but I use my red Longchamp or a medium L.L. Bean "Boat and Tote". It does the job and I don't spend an arm, a leg, and possibly a kidney on the VV one. Nevertheless, a tote is perfect for game season. It holds programs, water,  and miscellaneous things girls cram into their bags.

3 & 4) Gloves and Scarves. I don't know about y'all but I hate being cold when I don't have to. In Michigan, that is a HUGE issue. The weather never seems to make up its mind. So, one more thing to cram into the tote is some winter wear. Never know when the nip in the air is too much to handle!

5) Hoodie. The one above is from J. Crew ( or Prepster Mecca), but any hoodie will do. I have many from various sports I do, so I'm all set. But on those cold fall days when y'all are out freezing your "you know whats" off, it's nice to have the extra protection a hood give you. Plus, contrary to popular belief, hoodies are sporty cute!

6) Rain coat. One above is North Face and the one I have is a North Face in a hot flamingo pink. I love, love, LOVE it! It has just enough insulation that I don't freeze, but not so heavy that I'd actually prefer the cold rain to the sweltering heat inside the jacket. Like the wellies above, why would you sit cold and miserable when you don't have to?

7) Coffee traveler. Once again, football games are notorious for being cold. I like the Lilly print above, but any travel mug would do. The one I use is hot pink with lime green polka dots from Einsteins. Love it! In all seriousness though, hot beverages make sitting in the cold cheering seem more... well... cheery.

Senior Girl!!

Hey y'all! Today was my first day of senior year! Yeah! I'm super excited. And as my XC coach says, "last one, best one". This going to be a great year, I can feel it. Of course, it will be an expensive year, but every year with me is an expensive year!! I honestly can't believe I graduate at the end of the year. So much to do, so little time. Three years have gone by so fast: three spirit weeks, three homecomings, three yearbooks, 12 report cards, three ACTs , three AP tests. And I am still standing. *sigh of relief

Freshman Year

Sophomore Year

Senior Year

What do y'all think is going to be the best part of this year? Have a great day! xoxo Savannah

Fall Nail Polish

Fall Nail Polish

I love nail polish. It is a full blown obsession. Ever since I was little and my mom would bring me to her weekly manicure appointment, I have been crazy for OPI. That is my brand. The themes they have just crack me up. Definite favorite is the "Don't Mess with Texas" collection. That might also be the repressed southern girl coming out of me, too.

Red has always been Momma's go-to color. She would usually just change the shade year round. Sometimes when she was feeling adventurous, she'd wear orange! Gasp! Ha ha, I joke... :)

Pink, though, has always been a favorite of mine. I have fairly poor nail strength. I always have. But, because during running season ( now all year ) I lose a lot of essential nutrients, my nails don't grow quite right. I have fabulous nail beds, funny enough. So pink gives my nails that natural look I crave.

Gap

Above are some crew neck tees I scored from Gap! Black, grey, and white. Not boring, but I think more classy! I got them for those sweaters that are to wide on top for collared shirts and blouses. But they look nice by themselves with a nice pair of pants... or a fun skirt. They actually were on sale, so the guilt of buying three didn't eat me alive :) But, really, they are perfect for all types of weather because of the heavy material, and those who know Michigan know that's what makes a good shirt!

I have seriously been looking for black flats for as long as I can remember. I actually bought another pair an hour before I found these at Gap. The previous pair I bought were Tahari flats pricing a whopping $40. Tahari is my favorite brand of flats, but I don't love them enough to fork over that much of my hard earned money! The ones above, however, were $20. Much more reasonable! And they have a matte/patent oxford patterned, so there's a subtle preppiness to them!

Love... Literally

This is one of my favorite quotes! (other than the Lilly ones at the top ;) ) It's seussical and yet insightful. My day so far has been good, but not looking forward to this "getting up for school" business. But, cset la vie. Hope y'all are having a good day and happy labor day weekend!
